Dear Sir/Mdm,

I would like to make a complaint against the bus captain's service - of Bus #198/ #7313C. The incident happened while my sister and I were boarding it at the bus stop before Buana Vista MRT Station; about 10.20 PM to 10.22 PM.

At the time of incident, I was the third person to board the bus - there were 2 persons boarding before me and 3 more persons waiting to board behind me. This incident happened to my sister who is a tertiary student. After tapping my EZ-Link card on the machine, I suddenly heard the bus captain of bus 7313C saying "Scu Me, Scu Me" loudly and briskly.

I was unsure what was it about but I was certain that my sister and I had already tapped our cards. We went to take our seats. The 1st person who board the bus thought that maybe she has done something wrong and went to the front to re-tap her card. It seemed it was not her and she went up the stairs of the double-decker bus.

When my sister and I had already taken our seats, the bus captain continued to say "Scu Me, Scu Me" in an angry manner. The passengers all around were looking perplexed and shortly they stared at us. My sister probably thought it was her mistake and so she went to the front to re-tap her card because commonly we do that to re-assure the bus captain that we did not skimped our fare by not tapping our cards. But that was not what he wanted. He then asked for my sister her card and so she showed him her student pass cum EZ-link card.

When I noticed that the situation was not already settled yet, I went in front to confront the bus captain becuse I was most bothered and asked him "What was the problem? She is a student." The bus captain retorted loudly, rudely and indignantly, "Student oso must show me what!" After my sister took her student pass out and showed it to him, he took the card and screened it under the light. He then scrutinized my sister's photo on the card and her self to ensure she was not bluffing him her scholarly identity. When it seemed that my sister was deemed lawfully right to enter the bus, he gave back the card to my sister. He did not say "OK", nod his head, perhaps say "Thanks" or whatever. We presumed the matter was settled and went to take our seats.

I wished to complain especially on the rough manner that he treated us a passengers on his bus. Passengers would only look forward to an effortless and simple experience when boading buses. I had a very good Saturday shopping and hanging out in town and only wanted to have a calm bus ride home. However, this experiece had made my night most unpleasant! I was annoyed as I had never encountered such a thing on 198 buses.

It is not about the thought that perhaps my sister do not look like her student photo or whatever, but it is about the rude, discourteous and accusatory manner that he had portrayed to us as a bus captain. It has not only gave us embarassment and unpleasantness but most importantly, the bad impression that we can expect from SBS bus captains. It is not about the incorrect thing or procedure that had happened but about how the bus captain had behaved towards his passengers.

Come on, firstly how were we to know who was at fault when he just repeated the intelligible "Scu Me, Scu Me" to whoever and whomever.. Why couldn't he say "Excuse me Miss, can I see your card?" or "Excuse me, the girl in whatever top..?" etc.. Is that so hard to say?

Secondly, about "Student oso must show me what" - does this mean that ALL students must show the bus captains their student cards. If this is so, perhaps this should be enforced by putting a sign near the entrance saying that "KINDLY NOTE STUDENTS MIGHT NEED TO SHOW THEIR CARDS TO THE BUS CAPTAIN FOR VERIFICATION. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION." Perhaps in this way we could lessen such incidents to happen.

I am not saying that ALL bus captains are like this particular one as I have met some of the most friendliest (always smiling) and considerate ones around; such as one who would bother to personally help a fellow passenger in a wheelchair when boarding and alighting his bus. Other than the public is being educated on the basic manners the bus captains expects from us, I am hoping that the bus captains should also be aware of what manners the public expects from the bus captains.

If the bus captain that we had encountered today had just said to us a simple "THANK YOU", I would not have made a complaint tonight. But he did not and I would now put a preference to what buses I should take next; most likely not 198s anymore. His behaviour towards us has given me a worse impression of service than my previous bad experiences with retail sales assistants and cashiers.

Sometimes simple words like Thank You and Sorry can go a very long way. Surely this is not something extremely difficult to do. I hope such a thing would not happen again in future.

I'm not competent enough for it but ppl just demand and expect that I should.
I'm just being a kamikaze idiot doing the work since they give me half-hearted instructions, they are too busy to teach me and too stressed up to bother. Wtf! Not that I bother because seriously I don't care.
I pray and pray some other job offer comes along.

sighsigh...i'm at a loss. i realised that i'd loved my previous job, coz this new job feels sucky and just wrong for me.. i don't think i'm following the right path. no friends nearby, no retail therapy, the hours r just weird, n i cant match their brisk pace..

i dun get it, y they're like treating me as if im one of them who worked there so long already, its just my 6th day but i got 2 do so many things already. n sorry my excel skills R TWAT!! but watever, i wasnt experienced in that area.. :X:X

seriously..day 1, they taught me how 2 do daily sales reports in 15mins n then bam..i got to send it out already/ officially, same thing with allocation, bam got do it straight, ask me do a longer time sales report...after teaching, ask me hurry up n do "coz its already late, impt to send it asap" ~~~ hELLooo??!!! 

as things pile up, they keep teaching me other things n when i ask for the deadline of the others, they pend it till 2day n now i got to rush everything tmw...wtf!!!

its either im too optimistic or too stupid, or weak from fasting. or is this a natural/regular new job thing?
